Ogopogo Popo

225 Yonge St.

As a part of OpenStreets TO 2014,  PATCH Artist Hyein Lee took suggestions from the public on Yonge Street for this painting performance.

She painted the buildings in along Yonge Street coming alive, then inserted friendly furry monsters and animals around the buildings to represent Toronto’s cultural diversity.

The public contributed to the painting with written and drawn suggestions with chalk on the street. The work encapsulated the atmosphere of Yonge Street during this active street celebration.

The artwork is entitled Ogopogo Popo, which translate into “Touching Spirit of Toronto’s Streets”.

This project is generously supported by the Downtown Yonge B.I.A.
