As an illustrator, my aim is to depict seemingly ordinary moments of human life in various urban settings, and present them to viewers in a way that is easily relatable by evoking a sense of familiarity and connection with their shared experiences. I strive to accomplish this goal both through the universal subject matter of my drawings and in the high level of specific detail in their particular environments and contexts.
My mixed-media drawings are usually done with ink-on-paper, then are coloured in with Photoshop, watercolour, acrylic paint and a variety of other materials. A number of my illustrations have a focus on portraiture, and are often based on my experiences traveling in countries such as Japan, China, Korea, New Zealand and Australia. My current drawings focus more on various settings in the Greater Toronto Area, particularly on the eclectic urban canvases found downtown.
