Julita has been living and creating in St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District for over 20 years. She paints, organizes exhibitions for other artists, and promotes art through charity events.
I am interested in all forms of life from a single molecule to the universe. My paintings are about light, energy and liveliness; aquatic balloons, fantastic microorganisms, colourful jelly beans, and poetical spheres in harmonious dance and blazing colours. My inspiration comes from music, nature and science.
My paintings are bold, organic and vibrant, somewhere between lyrical abstraction and expressionism, created in the energetic and intuitive process. I also paint dramatic Canadian landscapes en plein air, and occasionally whimsical portraits. Watercolours and acrylic inks are my favourites, but I learn new techniques and explore all possible media.
