Julita is mainly an abstract artist, and has lived near the Distillery District and the St. Lawrence Market Community for over 15 years. She paints, organizes exhibitions for other artists, and promotes art through charity events.
I am interested in all forms of life from a single molecule to the universe. My paintings are about light, energy and liveliness; aquatic balloons, fantastic microorganisms, colourful jelly beans, and poetical spheres in harmonious dance and blazing colours. My inspiration comes from music, nature and science.
My paintings are bold, organic and vibrant, somewhere between lyrical abstraction and expressionism, created in the energetic and intuitive process. I also paint dramatic Canadian landscapes en plein air and occasionally whimsical portraits. Watercolours and acrylic inks are my favourites; I explore all possible media and learn new techniques.
